Da oltre 100 anni, Rex, il re del Martedì Grasso, e il suo magnifico carro sfilano per le vecchie strade del Vieux Carré (Il Quartiere Francese). Donne osservano dagli antichi balconi in ferro battuto, mentre al di sotto, bambini fra la folla si affannano per i ninnoli lanciati dai carri. Più tardi, al grande ballo, donne e uomini mascherati in scintillanti costumi continuano a danzare per tutta la notte.

For over 100 years, Rex, the king of Mardi Gras, and his magnificent floats have paraded through the streets of the Vieux Carré. Women watch from old ironwork balconies, while children in the crowds below scramble for trinkets thrown from the floats. Later at the grand balls, masked women and men in glittering costumes dance the night away!
