Barbie Sculptors

The production of a Barbie is divided into several phases; one of these is closely linked to the " character " that you want to give the character. The face of a Barbie is the result of a study , of a sculpture that generates a mold and, from this, a head comes out with only shaped contours. But when these features are painted, they highlight and enhance the design of those who have carved the face. The faces of Barbie, over the years, have been and are so many; among these we must also consider those initially conceived for "friends" and "cousins". On this page, therefore, we will focus on the sculptors who, with their art, have created features by declining the personality of Barbie in many different shades of expression.

La produzione di una Barbie si divide in svariate fasi; una di queste è strettamente legata al “ carattere ” che si vuole infondere al personaggio. Il volto di una Barbie è il risultato di uno studio , di una scultura che genera uno stampo e, da questo, esce una testa con dei lineamenti solo sagomati . Ma quando questi lineamenti vengono dipinti, essi mettono in luce ed esaltano il progetto di chi ha scolpito il volto. I visi di Barbie, negli anni, sono stati e sono davvero tanti; tra questi si devono considerare anche quelli concepiti, inizialmente, per “amiche” e “cugine”.
