During the Great Shape Barbie advertising campaign in 1985, an exceptional testimonial was Olympic gymnast Mary Lou Retton ( above ), gold at the 1984 Olympics. The TV commercial ended with the question: " We girls can do anything, can't we, Barbie? ", anticipating the slogan "You can be anything you want" for years to come.
